Paying Attention
Open to beauty
Many of us would agree there is much in this world we should try to avoid. (Butter pecan ice cream is not one of them.) Yet, on a more serious note, I sometimes catch myself getting caught up in the negativity of everyday happenings, and becoming angry about what I hear and see. I’ve pledged to personally avoid more of that type of thinking. Yesterday as I was moving about my house, I caught a glimpse of the image below. I’ve always liked this Buddha statue, but seeing it in the shadows made it more intriguing. The view felt very calming and peaceful. There is a Buddhist saying that speaks to this matter. I believe the words are true. — “you will not be punished for your anger, you will be punished by your anger.” I wish for all a peaceful, and calm life. Go well. David
